How to report environmental crimes

Discharges into rivers, dumped waste and rubble, poisons for animals, illegal hunting or bird trapping: who investigates and what to record.

What to do, step by step

1. 1Do not touch baits, containers or dead animals suspected of poisoning: they may be dangerous and they are evidence.
2. 2Record the place (coordinates if possible), the time, photos and videos, and what you saw (vehicle, people, smell, colour of the water).
3. 3Call the SOS Environment line (SEPNA/GNR, 808 200 520): it is the national line for environmental crimes.
4. 4Water pollution or waste: also inform APA; injured or trapped wild animals: ICNF.
5. 5If there is an immediate risk (toxic smoke, fire), call 112 first.
